About Cynthia Swope, PhD, LMFT, BCN

Texas has always been home for me, and after meeting my husband, I had the opportunity to really explore and fall in love with the Texas Hill Country. While my relatives farmed and ranched in Austin and Colorado Counties, my husband's family has ranched in and around Blanco, Concho, and Gillespie counties for generations. We now call Fredericksburg our home.
I have been in the mental health field for over 13 years, and have worked with a variety of client populations. I completed my bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Houston and my master's degree in Behavioral Sciences - Marriage and Family from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. My master's degree internship requirements were completed in the Department of Family Medicine - University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston, where I worked as a Medical Family Therapist in collaboration with physicians during their Behavioral Health Rotation. While practicing as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I continued my studies in advanced and alternative treatment options, and earned my Ph.D. in Marriage and Family, Applied Neuroscience from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. It was at St. Mary's University in 2006, where I discovered and began my practice of Neurofeedback. I have worked as an instructor for the state of Texas Anger Management Programs, Drug and DWI Offender Education and Intervention Programs, and as a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider.
I previously worked as a contracted provider for the Lone Survivor Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing therapeutic retreats for service members, veterans and their families affected by post-traumatic stress, mild traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, and military sexual trauma.
I am a member of the International Society for Neurofeedback Research, an Affiliate member of BrainMaster Technologies, and a member of the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapists.
